VIDEO MICROSCOPE SYSTEMS


Video Microscope Systems. While all users sourcing Analysis System have different requirements, we generally find that one of two systems will meet most needs. Both systems are supplied complete with a monitor, high quality CCD camera, and all of the necessary connections and cables.  Because everyone has different needs, these systems are not supplied with a microscope as standard.  Simply specify your use and we will help you pick the microscope which best suits your needs.

The Micron system is our basic or entry-level Image Analysis Software. The images are viewed live on the computer screen and can be captured and saved for alter reference. The images are saved in a format which can be e-mailed, thus allowing the user to share his images quickly anyone in the world. Micron is also capable of performing simple measurements of any aspect on the screen.  It can be used to measure anything from a fabric defect to the diameter of a fiber.

The Aequitas System is our full function, ultra-refined Image Analysis Software with many additional features and benefits.  Users can create custom report pages and can add text to images.  When storing a file, most programs require that you save using a file name.  Users must remember the file name in order to locate the image later. With Aequitas, images are displayed as small pictures, known as thumb tabs, allowing you to select the image you are looking for by clicking on the pictures.  Aequitas also has a digital zoom, which allows the user to see important details or to be accurate when exact measurements are critical. aequitas can also import and edit images from other applications such as digital cameras and scanners.  Aequitas is capable of the following measurements: % area detected, angle, average intensity, class label, intercepts, object count, profile, % area undetected, actual area detected, center of gravity, histogram, length orientation, actual area, actual area undetected, circularity, enclosed area, max diameter, perimeter.

SDL also offers custom microscope configurations and ultra high quality lenses. While our standard models are more than adequate for most users, at times there is a need for even more clarity where a special application requiring different stands or lighting.

G208T1       Video Microscope System ‘AEQUITAS’- Full function ultra-refined Image 
             analysis System with custom reports and thumb tab storage and retrieval.
             Is based on standard stereo zoom and precision microscopes with tri-
             nocular heads to mount video camera (see G208B and G208F - not included).
             Features include: digital zoom, imaging editing filters, memory of past
             calibrations, binary editing and data exporting.  On screen measure-
             ments include: length, % area detected, % area undetected, total area,
             angle, circularity, enclosed area, diameter, maximum diameter, object
             counting and circumference.  Includes Aequitas Image Analysis Software,
             CCD camera, specially constructed PC and 17” high resolution color moni-
             tor, video capture card (installed), video adaptor and data cables. 
             Windows based.
G208H1       Video Microscope System ‘MICRON’ - Is based on standard stereo zoom and
             precision microscopes with trinocular heads to mount vide camera (see
             G208B and G208F - not included).  ‘Micron’ capture and measurement soft-
             ware with calibration facilities, on-screen measuring, image saving and
             retrieval facilities.  CCD camera, composite cable and video adaptor.
             Includes specially constructed PC with video capture (installed) and 17”
             high resolution color monitor.
F025         Shirley Fiber Section Kit - Contains all equipment and consumables to
             provide fiber cross sections by the plate method.
F025A        Microscopy Cross Section Kit - Contains all the equipment and consum-
             ables used in making fiber and yarn cross sections by plate and modified
             cork methods recommended by AATCC.
F025B        Dissecting Needles with Handles - Pack of 12.
F214         Precision Fiber Microtome - To produce fiber cross sections of varying
             thickness from 10 microns for microscopic examination, measurement
             and identification.
G208         Microscopy Yarn and fabric Holder Set - A set of 2 clear acrylic hold-
             ers to mount yarn or fabrics for microscopic viewing.  The fabric hold-
             er can be used to look at a cut or folded edge.
